How MMBT Braiders Work & Weave Patterns

The mechanical architecture relies on individual threads or fine wires intertwisting with one another, crossing from above and below in a highly controlled geometric path. This fabricates a continuous, seamless sleeve featuring a non-orthogonal fiber/wire orientation—an essential property for achieving the torqueability and kink resistance required by medical catheters.

By shifting the basic wire diameter and adjusting the total threads per carrier, operators can change the setup to produce three foundational structural patterns:

Advanced Triaxial Braiding Capabilities
