MMBT by Metro CAD is proud to show our new vertical braider. MMBT16CVFWB has 16 vertical spring-loaded virgin nylon carriers with carbide eyelets and optional triaxial kit from 1 to 8 triaxials. MMBT's 16 carrier medical braider has 4 horns per gear that can rotate @ 300 RPM and have up to 600 picks/min. Up to 10 segments can be programmed in one recipe, allowing for different PPI for each segment.

MMBT16CVFWB 16 Carrier Vertical Braider

Product size for the MMBT16CVFWB is 0 (no core) to 50mm. MMBT16CVFWB can braid the following wires and fibers.

WIRES: Stainless Steel, Copper, Niti, Titanium, Gold, Platinum and Cobolt-Chromium.

FIBERS: Nylon, Polyester, Dyneema, Kevlar, Vectran, Spectra, PET, PEN, PP, PEEK and LCP.

Elegant design, rigid structure, & high output with easy operation. 

Machine operating elements are grouped on a separate intuitive HMI panel for the ease of operation and clear visibility.

DRIVE SYSTEM : Main switch 3 phase, 220V Servo motor, stopstart-jog control station included. AC frequency inverter : speed control & variable increase of speed.

MMBT16CVFWB Features : 

• Made of heavy-duty aluminum extruded profile
• MS cast iron horn gear with double ball bearing eliminating lubrication over the shaft. Manual grease pump to lubricate the gears with silicon grease installed.
• MS cast iron horn plate with medical grade electroplating. Double tier horn plates for better stability with nylon shoe for low noise operation.
• Carriers with triple Nylon rollers to minimize wire friction. Wire tension control through various sizes of compression springs.
• Stainless steel track plate with geared servo motor for operating machine at various speed.
• Silicon rubber coated capstan for slip free braid take-up. Take-up with multiple wraps to avoid any variation in peaks. Driven by Geared Servo Motor Electronically Controlled.
• Automatic optical sensor interrupter for wire break & bobbin run-out. Auto stop through fiber optic sensor during braiding core break.
• Full function PLC control recipe profiles to establish multiple recipes for various functions. 7.0” HMI with built in remote diagnostic function for troubleshooting remotely. Multi-Level password control for operator and engineering settings.
• Machine controls start, stop, jog forward/(reverse) and take up control.
• Safety Interlock Doors for accessibility.
• Includes pay-off and take-up to feed the mandrel and winds up the braided product. Pay-off and take-up reels are both located underneath the braider.
• Magnetic Break Control for Payoff Unit.
• An adjustable LED light to illuminate braiding area of the machine.
• Four stake tower light with multi-color LED to indicate various operational state of machine.
